Whitburn Academy partners with Cobra Simulation in pupil development initiative
A group of S5/6 pupils from Whitburn Academy in West Lothian recently visited Cobra Simulation at the Alba Innovation Centre in Livingston.
They were discussing the details of an exciting new venture they will be involved in, in partnership with Cobra. Pictured are the young people with Alexander Bradley, MD, who gave them a very warm welcome.
The initiative is designed to support the development of pupils; their understanding and transition to the commercial world whilst at the same time helping small businesses like Cobra develop into new commercially viable areas.
As part of the project the new academic team will be responsible for developing a new area of the business for Cobra within the gaming and immersive industry.
Mrs Kathleen McDonald Business Link Co-ordinator for Whitburn Academy "Whitburn Academy pupils and staff are delighted to have formed this partnership with Alexander Bradley and Cobra Simulation. With many exciting proposals in the pipeline, we are looking forward to valuable experiences in the near future. We are confident that our young people will greatly benefit from a real insight into how a business develops a project in the commercial world and hope that we can contribute to the growth of our new business partner, Cobra Simulation."
Alexander Bradley Managing Director said “They did not teach me how to be an entrepreneur when I was at School but I see a change in that thought process and we are thrilled to be a part of that change. Our economies future is our children, the next great idea, the next revolutionary product is out there waiting to be found. We as today’s business founders must do everything we can to encourage and support kids of all ages to think differently about their careers. Personally I love to try new ideas and new ways to develop the business, if you don’t you simply get left behind, we have already successfully worked with a number of university academics and this will be the first time we have worked with an Academy. I look forward to the new project going live and sharing the details in Q3 2015”
